Editorial Workflow

All manuscripts submitted to the Alassema University Scientific Journal (AUSJ) will undergo a thorough peer review process. Initially, the editorial team will evaluate each manuscript, followed by an assessment from the Editor-in-Chief to determine the manuscript's relevance, format, and originality. Plagiarism detection software will be utilized during this stage to ensure the integrity of submissions.

Manuscripts that fulfill the initial criteria will be assigned to a relevant Section Editor and paired with one or two reviewers whose expertise aligns with the manuscript's subject matter. If advanced statistical methods are employed, a statistician may also be consulted. AUSJ adheres to a double-blind peer review system, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers. Reviewers will assess the manuscript’s validity and its contribution to the field, providing specific recommendations for improvement.

The decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers' feedback and the Section Editor's insights. If major revisions are required, the manuscript will be returned to the reviewers upon resubmission. For minor revisions, only the Section Editor will be involved.

The initial peer review phase is anticipated to take between 4 to 8 weeks. Authors will then have 1 month to submit revised manuscripts for minor revisions and up to 3 months for major revisions. After resubmission, the final decision will be communicated to the authors within 4 weeks. Accepted articles will incur relevant publication fees, and publication will occur within 4 weeks of acceptance.

Initially, authors need to provide two items:

1.     The article’s metadata (including authors, affiliations, keywords, etc.)

2.     An anonymous manuscript document containing the full article text, with embedded tables and figures (high resolution is not required at this stage).

Upon final acceptance, authors must upload:

·       A text file of the article

·       A title page

·       High-resolution images for each figure

·       Separate files for each table

·       A file listing figure and table legends

·       A reference list file, including DOIs where available

Authors are advised to consult the Author Guidelines for detailed requirements regarding the content and format of the aforementioned files submitted after acceptance.

Following typesetting and proofreading, the article will be published on the journal’s website, assigned a DOI (see DOIs & ORCID), and the relevant metadata will be submitted to appropriate indexing and archiving services.
