DOIs & ORCID

Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

A DOI is a permanent identifier assigned to digital content, ensuring consistent access over time. By appending the DOI to the prefix https://www.doi.org/, a stable link is created that always directs users to a page containing the item’s metadata such as author names, publisher, and publication year. For open-access content, including articles published in Alassema University Scientific Journal (AUSJ), the DOI resolves to the full-text article page. This will typically be hosted on the journal’s official website, or, in the event of technical issues, through the archiving service where the journal is registered (see Indexing & Archiving).

Open Researcher & Contributor ID (ORCID)

ORCID functions for researchers in a way similar to how DOIs function for academic articles. It provides a unique digital identity that helps distinguish individuals, even when they share similar names. Additionally, ORCID profiles can be automatically updated with new publications, offering a centralized and reliable record of a researcher’s academic output. AUSJ requires that the corresponding author of each submitted manuscript has a valid ORCID account. While this is the minimum requirement, we strongly encourage all contributing authors to register for an ORCID ID. Registration is free and offers numerous advantages, including improved visibility and easier manuscript tracking. For more details, please visit the official ORCID website.
